Story of Dignity

“I'm a recently divorced mom of three girls. While trying to juggle full-time work, bills, kids, school, and court, it's been a battle; I'll tell you that. The first time I reached out for help, I didn't feel judged; I felt welcome when I pulled in. I didn't feel ashamed for being there, and today, when I went, I got a little more than just food. I was provided with job openings I could fill out while I waited and registered for some classes to help prepare me for work life, what businesses are looking for, etc. It's always the first step that scares you into making that big life decision. I constantly fear. My social anxiety gets in the way of that, so I am very thankful and blessed for this opportunity to learn who I am, what skills I'm good at, and have confidence in the workplace. Thank you, Puyallup Food Bank.”
