Gleaning Program
Our Gleaning Program harvests fresh fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste from farms, orchards, and backyard gardens after the main harvest. Volunteers work together to gather this nutritious food and deliver it to the food bank, where it is shared with neighbors in need.

Food Preservation Program
Our Food Preservation Program helps community members make the most of fresh, local produce. Through hands-on training courses and a shared food preservation equipment library, neighbors can learn practical skills like canning, dehydrating, and freeze-drying while borrowing the tools they need to get started.

Community volunteers are the heart of the Puyallup Food Bank’s Gleaning and Food Preservation Program. Volunteers help harvest fresh produce from local farms and gardens and assist in preserving that food so it can nourish families throughout the year.
This is a hands-on way to reduce food waste, learn valuable skills, and make a real difference for neighbors in our community.
